As mentioned in the last post, my birthday week did not just end in Netherlands. We took the celebrations to Greece, in a little LIT town called Zante aka Zakynthos.
Ive always wanted to celebrate my birthday (I mean the actual day of my birthday) in another country and this was the perfect moment. Why? Well because it was one of those special birthdays. THE BIG 25! I don’t think I would have had it any other way.
The Greece experience all started after a hectic and long overnight stay at London Stansted. Unfortunately our trip to Zante involved flying back into London from Amsterdam. Don’t ask. Flight issues. Now talk about feeling like a prisoner in an airport. The disrespect we received there. We had to sit on the floor because first they close the airport at midnight (surely who does that) and secondly there is just no seating space with no stores or shops open. Then to make things worse, we weren’t allowed to sleep (mind you we had to wait from like 10pm to 5am). The guards literally came to wake us up with threats of being kicked out of the airport. I honestly don’t think I will ever fly to that airport again. Regrets!
Anyway that experience didn’t spoil my birthday weekend in one of the most beautiful and serene locations I’ve ever been too. Greece is legit a country that everyone needs to visit. There are so many beautiful towns and cities. Im even thinking how I need to go to Athens, Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos. The list is endless.
OUR BEACH HOLIDAY HOME
Our house was literally one minute to the beach. I could hear the waves hitting against the wall at night. It was a cosy apartment with a swimming pool and restaurant right beneath it.
Airbnb is clearly the plug. After the luxuriously aesthetic house we got in Netherlands, i had no doubt that the place we would stay in Greece would disappoint and it definitely didn’t.
Stay tuned for part two to see what activities we got up to in Zante.
PEACE, LOVE AND NJOONAMI.
